Zdi se mi, da redko-kdo za sladico še pripravi rulado. Ne vem, ali je šla iz mode, ali je samo moja okolica bolj mahnjena na kaj drugega, ko je govora o sladicah. Prijateljica mi je omenila, da jo moti to, da čeprav je recept za rulado enostaven, testo nikoli ne ostane rahlo in puhasto – biskvitno, kot bi moralo biti. Tako sem se odločila, da razkrijem par trikov, ki jih pogosto v knjigah in receptih babic ter bližnjih znancev ni in mogoče ruladi spet odprem pot na mesto nedeljske sladice.

I feel like there is not a lot of people who still prepare roll cake for desert. I don’t know if it’s not a fashionable desert anymore or is it just that my close ones prefer other things for desert. A friend of mine mentioned to me, that it bothers her, that even though the recipe for a roll cake is so simple, she never seems to make it right. It doesn’t turn out fluffy and spongy the way it should be. I have decided that I will reveal a few tricks that are important when making a roll cake and maybe bring the roll cake back on the desert table.

Domači ozki rezanci z bolonjsko omako / Homemade tagliatelle with bolognese sauce

Ne poznam nikogar, ki se vsakič, ko želi jesti testenine, odloči in sam pripravi testenine. Najbolj zagreti znanci-kuharji prisegajo na doma narejeno omako torej “iz nule”. Ostali, ne tako kuharsko zainteresirani, pa raje uberejo drugo pot pri pripravi obroka s testeninami. Za večino, asociacijo za “makarone” ali “pašto” predstavljajo katere koli kupljene testenine in že pripravljena omaka. Te nešteto različnih vrst ponujajo na policah v bližnji trgovini. Ni kaj, testenine so res poceni in hiter obrok, še posebno za tiste, ki nimajo veliko časa.


I don’t know anyone who, when they want to cook pasta, decide to do them from scratch. Even the most cooking-loving people I know usually go for the homemade pasta sauce, but they still buy pasta in the grocery store. The rest of my »not so into cooking« friends buy the pasta and the sauce, that is conveniently packed in a can or a jar, and you can choose from variety of them. No one can deny that pasta is really a cheap and quick meal, especially for those who are in a hurry.

Potepanje po Italiji – inspiracija za ustvarjanje Silvestrskega menuja / Visiting Italy and finding our New Year’s dinner inspiration

Pred božičem sva se z dragim odpravila na potovanje v Italijo. Že poleti sva del dopusta preživela pri naših zahodnih sosedih, na njihovem severu, za kratek zimski oddih pa sva se odpravila v “kulinarično prestolnico” Italije Bologno1 in v njeno okolico (dežela se imenuje Emilija-Romanja (ital. Emilia-Romagna)). Ogledala sva si Ferraro, Bologno, Republiko San Marino, Rimini in Modeno. Nisva mogla mimo njihove kulinarike in tako prišla do ideje, da bova za najine goste na Silvestrovo poskusila poustvariti okuse, s katerimi sva se srečala na potovanju.


Before Christmas I went on a trip to Italy with my boyfriend. This past summer we have spent some time in the northern part of Italy so this time we have decided to visit the »culinary capital« of Italy Bologna1 with its surroundings (the region is called Emilia-Romagna). We visited different places, including Ferrara, Bologna, Republic of San Marino, Rimini and Modena.
